Garth D. Von Hagen

CEO & Director

Garth has over 25 years of business experience and completed his MBA in 2007, following a career transition from his practice of dentistry. He has served as a Director of two publicly-traded companies. Garth was also instrumental in launching the European division of Earth Water International, a United Nations-partnered social enterprise; and he is the former Chair of Edmonton’s Inner City Agency Foundation. Garth became an investor in high-performance curtain wall over 20 years ago, and after serving as CFO and Director of Envision for 15 years, he recently stepped into the role of CEO. He has been involved in over 25 successful Envision projects including the Hotel Georgia Tower, the TEC Pedway at the University of Alberta Hospital, the Iqaluit International Airport, 988 W Broadway, and the International Trade Centre Versante.

Robert (Jack) Grandbois

Managing Director - Thailand Manufacturing

Robert is the Founder and former long-time CEO of Envision. He is now the Managing Director of Envision’s offshore unitized manufacturing operations. He has over 35 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry, including over 30 years in the curtain wall and building envelope industry. He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1980. More than once, he has been responsible for the initial setup of curtain wall manufacturing operations, including equipment outlay, management recruitment, and implementing operational systems. He has held senior technical sales roles, promoting and selling high performance product, managing tenders, and estimating complex projects. Robert has been involved in over 300 commercial, industrial and institutional projects in Canada, the U.S.A., and Korea.

Len Kapasky

General Manager – Vancouver Operations

Len has over 20 years of experience in the commercial glazing market in the Greater Vancouver Area. He has held various senior roles in estimating, sales, and management. Len lived in Toronto as a teenager and young adult. He cut his teeth in sales at the age of 13 at the famous Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto and was quickly promoted through the ranks of food and merchandise vendors. Shortly after graduating from high school, Len earned his Membership in the Canadian Professional Golf Association (CPGA). He toured competitively and served as a Golf Professional in Ontario in the late 1980’s. He then moved into the automotive industry and gained valuable experience in sales, finance, and sales management in Ontario and Vancouver. He was attracted to the glass business in Vancouver over 20 years ago and he has never looked back. Len has built an extensive network of contacts and an excellent reputation in the Greater Vancouver construction market. He currently fulfills the role as General Manager of all of Envision’s operations in British Columbia and is a valuable advisor for Envision’s activities in Canada and internationally.

Roy Schmidt

Engineering Manager

Roy has 30 years of experience in the glass and architectural metal industry as a designer and engineering department manager. He has been working with high-performance curtain wall systems extensively throughout his career and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Envision’s technical team. Roy has been involved in the design and engineering management of hundreds of unitized curtain wall projects throughout North America and Asia. Roy has a strong background in rain screen wall design, thermal heat transfer, integration with other wall systems, and a thorough understanding of Computer Aided Design systems.

Jennifer Millen

Controller

Jennifer has over 25 years of management and accounting experience and she completed her Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting Major in 1993. Prior to Envision, Jennifer was the CFO of Metal Salvage Group which primarily exported to Asia, USA and South America. At Envision, Jennifer fulfills the roles as Financial Controller, advisor to senior management, and also handles materials procurement and project coordination on several large projects simultaneously.

Luc Harrison

Installation Manager / Site Supervisor

Luc brings over 30 years of experience in the commercial glazing and aluminum industry, supervising installation crews to the successful completion of many large scale projects. He has an extensive knowledge base in the fabrication and installation of curtain wall systems and has completed such projects as the David Braley Cardiac Vascular and Stroke Research Institute in Hamilton, the Windsor Casino expansion in Windsor, the Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo, and the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. With Envision, Luc has assisted with the design, install, and international testing of our curtain wall and window wall systems. He has also managed the installation at the 20-storey Union Square Nine, 11-storey 988 W. Broadway, and the twin office towers at the International Trade Center. Luc’s experience encompasses project management, quality control, estimating, safety and labour standards, as well as being skilled in consultation and communications.
